2000 Chevrolet Blazer LT review from North America
"This Blazer is burning up my wallet!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Don't get burned by the Blazer!
Since buying the Blazer, it has needed to have many repairs. Most of the repairs were required after the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty expired.
Repairs under warranty: Driver's side window would grind when opening and closing. This was repaired by the dealership twice. It is now malfunctioning it again.
Since expiration of warranty: I replaced the pitman and idler arms, ball joints, and replaced the fuel pump.
Current repairs needed at 70,000 miles: intake manifold gasket leaking, security system is failing (light in on intermittently and the Blazer sometimes will not start because of it. The check engine light also comes on intermittently. The Blazer needs a new alternator and oil cooling lines. The lever to recline the passenger seat snapped off, and the hinge on the driver's side door is broken. The CD player burned out at about 40,000 miles.
I really liked the Blazer when I first bought it. But now, I realize my 1991 Cavalier was much more reliable and less expensive to fix!
General comments?
Comfortable and roomy.
Expensive repairs!
