2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"I am generally pleased with the 2001 blazer and it has met my expectations for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace the HUB assembly which has to do with the Anti-lock brake system.
I had to replace the serpentine belt 3 times within the first 50,000 miles - I eventually went with a Gatorbelt.
I had to replace the tires at 50,000 miles which were rated for 60,000.
General comments?
Overall, this car has been reliable. I have 83K+ miles and there are things here and there, but nothing too serious. I think the car has a rough ride and am considering replacing the shocks with some better quality ones to see if it help. I usually stretch my oil changes to 5,000 miles and always use FRAM filters and have not had a problem yet - unless it concerns getting the filter on and off, which can be a chore. The fuel economy is not that great, but it's okay. Adding some metal to the car gives it some character - I have a grille guard from Westin, steps from smittybuilt and a rear bumper guard from Waag. People tell me it looks good with it - rahter plain without it.
