2000 Chevrolet Blazer LT review from North America
"The 2000 Chevy Blazer is a money dump"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My parents purchased this car several years ago, and then passed it on to my husband and I when my Elantra became a money dump. Unfortunately, I'm getting the feeling that this truck might share the Hyundai's same fate. I began driving the Blazer a year ago, and since that time I have replaced both front and rear hubs, rotors, and brake pads. My husband and I physically repaired the rear rotors and pads ourselves about 3 months ago, and bought the top of the line brand and special pads. Already, they are grindind in an extreme way. I have read that one could expect to replace the rotors every year or so, but less than three months seems ludicrous. In addition to the brake problems, the rear wiper is not funcitonal, the doors --oh yes the infamous hinges have been repaired multiple times-- work like crap, it makes an intermitant loud, buzzing noise around 2nd gear, I've replaced the idler arm twice, had problems witht he sway bar, and the list goes on. Oh well. In my opinion, buying American should be irrelevent the way out-sourcing is. Who wants to make such a large purchase knowing they will have to put just as much into repairs (if not much more) within the next 8 years?
General comments?
Inefficient fuel system.
Major brake problems and maintenance.
