1988 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado 1500 review from North America
"A truck, worth owning and fun making it yours."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Muffler needed @ 102,500miles- replaced with a performance Super 40 series Flowmaster. Sound great! $242.00.
Added a K&N performance air cleaner. $30.00.
Driver door handle needed to be replaced due to latch break. $25.00.
Rear sliding window latch/lock snapped off. needs to be fixed.
Brakes are due to be adjusted or replaced...
Dealer installed shell has minor water leaks from side sliding windows.
General comments?
This truck was purchased brand new in 1987 by my friends grandfather, now it's my 1988 Chevy Silverado 1500 long bed/reg cab with a dealer installed shell, nice brite red paint and absolutely no dents,-just scrathes.
This is my first truck ever and I'm loving it too much, I don't see how I drove sedans or coupes all my life-lol I love this truck and plan on keeping it and adding some nice touches to it.
A few things to mention.
Gas mileage is not great...
Handling is sketchy when on wet roads...
I guess I'm used to having room for more
passengers, but the regular cab is cool.
The 305 5.0 V8 is smooth and has decent power, but not what I expected, I will be getting a crate 350 5.7 V8 in the future.
