- Seats have worn badly.
- Oxygen sensors have gone out many times.
- Power windows went out around 30,000 miles.
- Started leaking oil at around 55,000 miles.
- Many small things... nothing huge.
Really fast... sucks up gas.
"Really fast... sucks up gas.."
In street racing, there's a famous old saying: "If you want to play, you've got to pay."
Imagine, a performance car that sucks up gas, quite the phenomenon.
I have a 98 Z28 with 87k+ miles on it.
My (cloth) seats are fine, I've never had to replace an O2 sensor, window motors work fine, I run synthetic oil and nothing leaks.
So your car gets bad gas mileage? It's a V8 for one, but these LS1's do get decent gas mileage if you keep them tuned up and keep your foot out of it.
BTW, my car gets better mileage on 100% gas, that ethanol blend crap gets you worse gas mileage. Spend the extra $2 or $3 and get 100% gas, it's worth it.
The WORST gas mileage I've gotten with my 2002 Z28 is 16MPG, all short back road trips with some hot rodding every now and then. The best was 21MPG with a mix of driving including highway, and trying not to mash the throttle too often. And I've only had it for two months. I think you can average around 20MPG all the time if driven decently, pretty damn good for a performance car.
