1989 Chevrolet Camaro RS review from North America
"A Camaro is a safe and affordable ride"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When we bought the car it wasn't running at all.
It had jumped time.
The plugs and wires were dead.
It needed interior work.
The car quit on me in the middle of the road, and sounded like a gun shot when the coil blew.
General comments?
Even though there were several things wrong with the car at the time that we bought it, it was well worth $400. The car was still in good shape, and only needed some TLC, as would a lot of vehicles almost 20 years old.
This is the second Camaro that I have owned, and if it were up to me I would have many more than just one.
The car has a 2.8, and yes a lot of people think this is a little motor for such a big car, but with the gas prices the way they are, I like it!! It is very cheap on gas, I went on a trip of approx. 300 miles for less than $50.
For that price it can go as slow as it wants and I can still be stylin'.
Now that my daughter has turned 16, she wants this to be her first car, which is fine by me. With the long front end to protect her and the engine not taking her at 140 mph, I would prefer her to be in this than the parents that want their child to have a new car that will get them killed with speed.
