"A car with a lot of appeal"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Battery

headliner.

General comments?

These cars can be cheap supercars, I bought mine for $1,500 with 160,000 miles on it and it still runs strong. It isn't a Z-28 but it has pretty much all the options a Z-28 would have like the LG-4 305, T-tops, power everything, the F-41 sport suspension package. the only things it pretty much doesn't have is the ground effects, full gauge cluster, and dual exhaust. It handles really well and acceleration from the 305 is good thanks to the 3.08 rear-end gears. It is a good looking car for what i paid for it. It is Blaze Red, one think about the color red is that yget noticed really easily no matter what kind of weather it is. T-tops are a must and mined don't even leak. i plan on doing some work to it as in getting a bigger engine for it that the anemic 305.

If you want a car with a lot a sex appeal get a third generation camaro with T-tops and you can't go wrong from there. Plus the girls like to ride with the tops off.

No Thirdgen Camaro's came with "dual exhaust", they all have a single pipe from the cat back to the muffler, and then either one or two exits from the muffler...

While a 305 is not as sought after as a 350, the block and many components are the same. Swap out the heads for some off of a 327 or 350, upgrade the cam, add some roller rockers and maybe a set of headers, balance the crankshaft and add a new ignition and trust me... that 305 will eat a mustang alive. I've done all of those mods to my 1986 Sport Coupe and it'll bury the 85 mile per hour speedometer in less than 10 seconds. Quarter mile right now is just over twelve seconds and horsepower at this time is 285 and torque is 325. I bought all second-hand parts, rebuilt them myself and did everything for less than two thousand dollars, which is less than you can buy a complete STOCK 350 for with only 200 hp. It's worth the money, trust me. You can get online and find easy directions on finishing many of these mods and even get tips on how to add a bit more hp here and there. I hope you enjoy your Camaro for many years to come.
