1968 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible review from North America
"A daily driver that turned into a classic!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I picked this car up for $950 in the summer of 1980.
Replaced the top twice since I owned the car.
Replace the carb.twice.
Repaired all four quarters for rust and repainted it.
Replaced drivers side foot well for rust. (carpet hidden the damage)
Replaced the interior recently (seat covers and carpet)
Always done regular maintenance on it. (tune ups, tires, shocks, ete.
Replaced the water pump.
Recored the radiator.
Replaced the alternator.
I never had the engine apart in the in the 24 yrs. of owning it.
Don't burn a drop of oil.
Was my daily driver till 1992.
Weekend cruiser since. Not out in the winter anymore.
I guess this the normal upkeep listed above for a car of it age.
Great looking car for 36 yrs old.
General comments?
Quick car.
Handles like a car of its vintage.
Enjoyable car to own and a easy fix. If you're a do-it-yourselfer.
A real head turner. People always offering money to buy it. (No Way!! It's a keeper!!)
