1987 Chevrolet Camaro LT review from North America

"Could have bought a better car for less money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Battery was dead right when I bought it.

Needed new heater core.

Emergency brake needed to be fixed.

High beam and other assorted lights

needed to be replaced.

Gas meter went higher with acceleration and went down with braking.

A couple hoses needed to be replaced.

Water valve blew on the way to school.

Tired were mismatched upon purchased.

Car had a problem with starting, replaced spark plugs and wires, distributor cap/rotor, ignition coil, starter, problem still not solved.

Needed O2 sensor.

Engine ran rich or lean I don't know which.

General comments?

This was my first car. I would say it sat as much as I drove it. And I only had it for only 6 months. Heater core was blown when I bought it so there was anti-freeze on the passenger side floor. Needed lights and emergency brake adjusted for inspection.

Every time I thought it was ready to go something else would go wrong with it.

It would stall when I would try to stop so I'd have to be quick about getting it going again in traffic. Never figured out why that would happen.

Engine ran rich or lean, performance was down due to this. Emissions were even worse because of this. Being sensitive to smells I suffered many headaches and dizziness while driving.

Near the end of summer the car just wouldn't start. It would try and try, but just couldn't get going. Even after checking the ignition module and replacing the ignition coil it would still not start all the time. After replacing the starter it would start fine. Then it stopped again.

Car has been a nightmare since I bought it. It ran very little, but when it did it was OK.

The transmission was the only thing that I never had a problem with. Always shifted fine, never kicked or anything.
