"Camaro's kick butt"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car in March 2000, about 3 months later the water pump locked up and threw the belt, and at the same time
it started flashing code 43, so I had to replace the knock sensor. On and off the first 3 years I owned the car, every month or so, you could get in the car and try to start it and it wouldn't start. I finally traced it down to the anti-theft system. The 2 white wires on the lock cylinder had rubbed into, and they just happened to work with the VATS system, so it was killing the fire to the starter, and to the injectors. Other than that. Just recently the transmission (700R) decided it wanted to go, so I decided I would just replace it and the motor too. So now it has a 350 with a TH350 tranny.
General comments?
Overall this has been a great car, the motor was pretty reliable and got pretty good gas mileage (about 20 hwy, 16 city). After all it is a V6, but it had some power for a V6. It would run 16.80's all day at the track STOCK. A lot better than my 85 camaro's 2.8, it went 18.00's. This car is a excellent candidate for a hot rod small-block.
