So far 18,000 trouble free miles!!!
For a 22 year old wagon it still looks great...
However it's a slug on the road until you get moving.
Anybody know how to get some low buck giddy-up out of the stock 305 4bbl??
Hey man. I got a 1985 Chevy Station wagon and will hall ass. It has a 5.0L/305 4bbl. and I got a whole new engine. It only cost $1600. It was well worth it and now my dad drives it on his paper route. I drove it the other day and I beat my buddy's 2002 Ford mustange GT covertable. He was so ashamed that so of his friends watched and they saw the he got beat by a 3 ton stationwagon. Everybody that see's it they say there go the pimp mobile. Nobody will race it and is a stock 5.0L/305. Although my 1981 Chevy Caprce Classic, which is a car, is going to get the works and I'm going to use it as my Pro Stock drag race car.
The easiest way to improve performance for low cost it to invest in a K&N air filter, replace the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, and wires. If your looking for good wires look towards Aroura brand plug wires. They have a stainless steel wound core as opposed to carbon. But do not emmit radio interference like solid wires do.
