1) replaced water pump when purchased
2) replaced Y-pipe shortly afterward
3) repaired 2 small holes this spring as rust is starting to form
4) paint is wearing thin-go figure
5) rear view mirror fell off, but it is easier driving without it
6) FAILED E-TEST the other day due to excessive Hydrocarbon and CO levels (only during high idle-approx. 1250rpms)
This is a great car; it has lots of headroom and practically no blind spots.
The rubber flooring is still intact and the original owner protected the seats with covers.
Maintenance is relatively cheap since it takes lower priced versions of replacement parts (ex. fuel filter cost about $3.00 compared to the many others of the different type priced over $10.00).
The only negatives are the lack of cruise control and intermittent wipers.
IF ANYONE HAS INFO REGARDING THE CAUSE OF THE FAILED E-TEST AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION (S) PLEASE SUBMIT IT:)
Did you change the oil before you brought it in? Also try running some GM top engine cleaner in the carb (buy the liquid kind) it will clear out some of the carbon. Let me know if you need any more help.
