Fast, Fun, and reliable!!! The 9c1 pkg. Caprice has better suspension and heavier duty components than it's more expensive twin, the Impala SS. I beat this car seriously hard for over 10,000 miles. now and it's never even hiccupped on me. With just a little over $500 in modifications I was able to boost hp from 260 to almost 300hp on 87 octane. I consistantly run 0-60 in 6.7 or less and the 1/4 miles. between 14.6-14.9sec. Add to this that I avg. 15mpg city and 23 highway and I've got the best of everything you could want for a fast shiney $2300 car. I know there are faster and arguabley better looking cars out there, but I have yet to find one that does so many things as well as the 9C1. Even though this car is faster than my 90 Firebird Formula, insurance on it is about $400 a year cheaper because it is not considered a sports car.
Follow Up: Sadly, I parted ways with my beloved 9c1 in Oct. 2008. I purchased the car with 103k and sold it with 136k.
I beat the crap out of this car for over 30k miles, and it was still one of the fastest, most reliable & comfortable cars I've ever owned!
The most expensive repair was a tune up, and to have the passenger side exhaust manifold replaced. That was $400 all together.
My wife drove this car across the state of NH every weekend all winter. Despite some terrible blizzards that left many motorists stranded, the 9c1 never failed to safely deliver her to her destination every time.
If you buy one of these, make sure it has the g80 posi option... with an aggressive set of tires, this car is like a tank through the snow.
I only sold the car because I really needed a pick up, but I'll always remember my Caprice as one of the best cars I've ever owned.
