1996 Chevrolet Cavalier 2 door coupe from North America - Comments

"No contest to any other cars I've ever owned."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The head gasket has been repaired at 100,000 miles. The fuel pump and fuel line has been replaced at 110,000 miles. The heater fan is stuck on high. The A/C does not work and I am not sure why. The water pump has been replaced at 100,000 miles.

General comments?

I love this car. It has been extremely dependable. I have made 14 trips to Canada in the last 4 years with each trip being over 600 miles one way. I would definitely buy another Cavalier.

A head Gasket repair at such a low Mileage? You want to try Honda next time friend. My 1991 Accord has been owned from new by myself. I am now at 312k Miles. I have only had to replace Starter, Alternator, Fuel Pump, Distributor and Cv Axles. Obviously I have had Tires and Brakes. This car owes me nothing.

The reason for the head gasket repair was due to the water pump going out and me trying to get the car to the shop before it overheated (which it did for less than 5 minutes). Other than that I believe it would have been fine.
