1993 Chevrolet Cavalier RS Wagon review from North America

"This is one of the most reliable vehicles out there"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

This car did not have had automatic safety belts and it should have. Most cars back in the 90's had this. This lowers your car insurance rate.

General comments?

This 1993 Chevy Cavalier was the most trouble free and reliable car I have ever had. Being that is was a station wagon it had much more room than the other Cavaliers. Gas mileage was amazing. It got over 40mpg doing long distance driving and 33mpg doing mixed driving.

If I had to pick anything to complain about this car that would be the AC and heater. They were weak to comfort us, but they did work OK between 30-80 degree weather.

What we care about most is reliability, and that's what this car was, nothing but reliability. I was very stricked when it came to service on this car. I had the oil changed every 2,000 miles, and every other time I changed the oil I rotated and balanced my tires. I tuned up the engine every 10,000 miles, and changed the transmission fluid and filter every 20,000 miles, and most of the services on the car was done myself.

The brakes and tires lasted me a very long time, maybe because this car was always driven on the highway. Front brakes and tires went at about 65,000 miles and the rear tires and brakes went at 90,000 and change.

It was not too comfortable but I was satisfied enough. The front seats are more comfortable than the back seats. This car also handled excellent, including bad winter snow and ice storms. I never lost control or got stuck. It maybe because it had Goodyear tires.

Overall I miss this car and I wish I still had it, but gave it to my brother 7 years ago because he needed a car and had no money, and we don't even talk anymore.
