1992 Chevrolet Cavalier RS review from North America

"A solid car often overlooked because of the badge"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Well there was a bit, but since I was in high school, I had very little green to work with, so I had to let most of it go.

It had a bad oil leak... it lost about 3 quarts a week.

I didn't fix the gaskets, again because of the money.

I did replace a cracked windshield. While in the lot of the glass place, it wouldn't start. Turns out an exposed wiring harness was to blame.

General comments?

I got this car free from my grandfather, so on that note I don't have a lot of complaints.

It was a station wagon, so I received a lot of jeering from my peers, but I didn't care. Especially with the fire breathing V6 under the hood. It was basically like having a Z24 with more cargo room.

I got anywhere from 27 to 30 MPG on average, which I consider great because it's a V6 and it wasn't in the best running condition. It only had a 3-speed, so I bet with a 4-speed, mileage would be even better.

I always like the look of these cars... even more than the newer generation. The interior quality was also quite good, besides the slide out cup holders, which were broken before I got the car. I think its quality is even better than the newer ones.

Don't let the small size fool you, I fit a Troy Built Horse row tiller in the back. If you don't know what that is, go look it up.

Despite all of its problems, the car was pretty reliable so I do recommend it. I even accidentally ran it out of oil a couple times and it still drove like nothing was the matter, at least until I got to the nearest gas station anyway. Also, just because it's a wagon, doesn't mean it's not fun.
