1989 Chevrolet Cavalier review from North America
"If you want a car for about a year"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I don't remember much about the car itself.. it is still sitting in my ex-husband's yard. I now drive a Beretta GT.
I tried to tell my nephew NOT to get his Cavalier;he did and I told him not to say I told him so... My husband now says he had problems with his Cavaliers too.Everyone else I have talked to that had one had problems too.
Where can I begin? Okay in the three years I had it on the road these are the list of problems:1.Went through three alternators (if you buy one of these cars, get the lifetime guarantee) 2.headliner fell 3.head blew 4.heater core went out 5.back seat leaked water somewhere 6.computer chip needed replacing 7.paint job went bad (I think it was a Chevy thing that year because my Beretta is doing the same thing).8.windshild cracked too easily 9.head (after replacing it) gasket cracked. 10.It overheated constantly 11. ran out of gas when the line wasn't even on the orange!! The list goes on... it is still sitting in my ex-husband's yard.Dead, not working, no body wants it. I don't recommend this car, never will... This is a poor excuse of a car (this was a 4-door gun metal grey) and a lemon and they needed to quit THESE cars, not the Beretta!!!
General comments?
Don't waste your money on an 1989 Cavalier!
