2002 Chevrolet Cavalier VL review from North America
"A good car for the money, but do not expect much backing from gm on the warranty issues"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The brake rotors needed turning every 8,000 to 10,000 kilometers.
The trunk release failed at 72,000 kilometers, not covered under warranty.
Paint quality very thin/ poor, scratches and chips very easily.
Water leaks--trunk, and drivers floor, not covered under warranty. had to replace under felt due to mold.
General comments?
The car drives very well, with good traction in snow, and a comfortable ride on the freeway.
Gas mileage was good, 22-24 city mpg
and 32 - 36 mpg on the freeway.
The gm brakes were very poor/ABS system
was a problem.
