1990 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 review from North America
"Cavaliers went from great to S**T!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Regular maintenance oil changes every 5000k, brakes, aside from that, front end struts, rediculous how fast and how expensive they are to replace.
General comments?
I bought my 1990 chev cavalier Z24 back in 1995 for $7600 Canadian dollars. It had 109,000 km's on it. I drove that car everywhere, anytime. It let me down twice, once the alternator went and the battery drained just as I was pulling into a shopping mall (could have been worse). The second time was around May 5/05, timing chain gone. With 300453 Km's it wasn't worth the fix. The body (red) and the interior (black) was in perfect condition. The repair would have been as much, if not more than the car. I had to put her to rest. I'm not sure if lightning will strike twice, but right now I have my eye on a 2001 Impala LS with 89000KM's for around 11G. That Cavalier by far is the best car I've ever owned.
