"Best first car ever!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I am the second owner. The first owners were my grandparents; 2 months after they purchased it the interior of the car got saturated with 2.5 in. of water on the floor due to a missing seal on the back windshield.

When I received it, I needed to replace:

1) driver side rear brake line.

2) the muffler.

3) A/C compressor clutch, all at 13,700 miles.

Total cost: $1015.00

All probably due to the fact that the car was rarely used for 1 yr before my grandmother stopped driving.

General comments?

I've loved the car ever since it was given to me by my grandmother in Oct. 2005, with, believe it or not, 13,700 miles. A grandma's car at its best. The car still looks and smells like new. Still has the original tires!

This car is my first car, and compared to my parents' Ford Taurus and Windstar, I absolutely love the way that this car drives and handles. It is quick and nimble. Acceleration could be a little better, but it is only a 4 cylinder and I am only 16, so I'm happy with it.

When I received it, the car had no radio, speakers, or antenna. It came that way new from the dealership, as my grandparents didn't want a radio. Between the radio and equipment, that cost me about $260. I put in all factory Delco parts.

I don't really find the car cramped, I am 5'11 and have ridden in the back seat with no problem. Except for the middle seat, which is like sitting on wood. Front seats are extremely comfortable.

I love my Cavalier, I plan on driving it until it dies (which, with only 14,000 miles, is probably a long, long time from now)

Gotta love the older folks. This is why I always look for cars owned by the elderly: They keep their cars in great working order, and a lot of times don't even drive these cars anywhere.
