"A low-performance car, good for around town."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Air conditioning and cruise control don't work.

Irregular idle speed.

Transmission lines leaked.

Mushy brake pedal.

Frost plugs leaked.

Stalls often when hot-started.

Power steering pump sometimes kills the engine.

General comments?

Engine power is weak.

Handles poorly in the winter.

Gets about 22 miles per gallon.

Seats uncomfortable for long trips.

Excellent for around town driving.

Lots of cargo space.

The first line in the review, "Air conditioning and cruise control don't work" sheds light on other comments about the car. The a/c and cruise control would work if they were repaired.

It's evident to me that the owner didn't maintain the car properly. Most of the reviewer's comments on mechanical problems should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.

I have a 1986 Celebrity that works fine, because I've spent about two thousand dollars on repairs over the four years I've owned it. I firmly believe the old saw "you get what you pay for" (and the converse) figure prominently in cost/benefit analysis of car maintenance.
