1998 Chevrolet Chevelle LS review from North America
"If I did not total it would still be running and reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced Alternator at 70000 miles.
Replaced motor mounts at 70000 miles because they were failing.
Driver side headlight was full of condensation.
The contacts for the driver side power window on the switch failed, but after cleaning with a pencil eraser they worked for the rest of the time that I owned the car.
Besides that the car was very reliable and drove nice until, I was driving about 20mph over the posted speed limit (which was 35mph) and the tie rod to the front driver side wheel snapped, I instantly lost all control and the car rolled 5 times. I did manage to walk away from the accident after I regained conciseness which I had lost when my head smashed the driver side window.
General comments?
I did enjoy this car for the short time that I owned it, I am very disappointed about the tie rod snapping and almost costing me my life.
