16 years and 233,000 miles and the only thing that went wrong was that the sun visor broke?

Why do I have trouble believing this?

Wow this review was very helpful. Thanks man! I would have never guessed that the sun visor would break. Better scrap it now. Come on.

Seriously though, I would beleive the reviewer if he stated that he had no major problems with the vehicle during ownership. I wrote a review praising my former Corsica because I couldn't believe a low class vehicle could be so reliable. It had the 2.2 engine that I admit never got a complete tune-up, except replacing the spark plugs, wires etc... done by myself (rookie), yet that engine went 352686 kms before it was in a head on collision and got scrapped. The engine and transmission were still in great operating condition at that time, as I was a real stickler on changing the oil and tranny fluid at proper intervals. It's everything else I pretty much put off until the car started falling apart. I was about to change the motor mounts in the car before it was smashed up. Other than that, I can remember changing the serpentine belt tensioner, which is actually a big job because of what it is and where it's located. Cost was around $250 with the part. I changed the factory original heater core, the muffler, and brakes all around in the time I owned the car (just over 200,000K to 352,686K. Maybe a few smaller odds and ends that I forgot about over the years, but there was surely never anything major wrong with the car while I owned it.

I would gladly buy another with the 2.2 if one was available that has been taken care of. Proper maintenance is key to any vehicle if you expect it to last a long time.
