1990 Chevrolet Corsica LTZ review from North America
"I would advise any one to buy this car, but qualify it with what I was told, avoid all 4 cy engines"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Problems so far have been minor. There are several cheesy plastic bits that have broken.
The paint is in quite good shape for a dark colored GM product of the vintage. It may have been repainted as part of a recall though.
The only work pending is a broken spring and fixing the hand brake. Not bad for 160K+ miles.
General comments?
To be honest I have never trusted American Cars. This 1990 LTZ has changed my mind though.
The Corsica is quite a powerful car for its size, a little too powerful at times. It is quite easy to day dream your way to 65 or 70 MPH. John Bull does not care for such things so I do my best to be aware of my speed.
Handling for an American car is quite good, not up to some German cars I have driven, but not the pig on roller skates that I expected from a GM product. The LTZ package did have a slightly more performance oriented package though. It is a pleasure to drive and even fun on twisting roads as long as you respect its' limits.
