"Sport car-like performance from an economy car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Currently on the third or fourth alternator
The manufacturer paint is faulty and is peeling off all over the place
The right rear shock makes a lot of noise
Oil pressure gage is malfunctioning. Power locks stick, driver power window switck sticks.
Air Conditioning compressor seized up, all fren has leaked out, air conditioning a write-off.
High beam/low beam selector stuck, so no high beams.
Air vents are semi-clogged, not a lot of air flow.
Power steering slightly out of alignment.
General comments?
Despite all the problems listed above, there is nothing majorly wrong with the body or engine, and it runs great.
The 3.1L MFI has plenty of power, still has great acceleration when cruising over 100KPH.
The interior is in relatively good condition for a car of it's age, however it was not a charmer to begin with!
I was the first owner of the car, even though it is a 1990 bought in 1991. It was on the dealer lot for almost a year, because of all the extra features, no one wanted the extras.
All of the problems listed above are nothing major, and once fixed to not alter the operation of the car.
