1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 review from North America
"Uniquie 60s style with edge to the future"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well, recent repairs include, gas tank, emergency cable, carb rebuild, battery, differential posi clutch pac (removed),diff. bearings replaced, you joints, starter, exhaust (replaced with duals), bearing on the blower, and misc other things mostly cosmetic.
General comments?
It starts with the turn of the key, runs great, handels good for its age, rides nice, can go 50 in 1st gear (it's a 2 speed auto). luv the lil wings on the windows (why don't they make new cars with them?) Gets some looks, was inexpensive to buy and fix up, parts avaiable to work on it via mail order/web. This car was small in its day, built like a tank. Now would be a mid size car, not bad gas mileage I think about 18per gal. Had the motor/drive train out several times, not hard to do (drop it out the bottom). Wheels on rear tilt in when raised, like a older VW beattle would do, main reason got a bad name by Nader, he was full of it, just out to make a name for himself. I think this is a great car, luv the body style, classic of the 60s, hard to beat for the price.
