1980 Chevrolet Corvette L-48 review from North America

This car has had all the problems associated with Corvettes of that era. It's textbook Phil Edmonston's Lemon-aid Guide. All items listed under the C-3 body style (1968-1982) have happened to this car over the years.

I also own an earlier C-3 convertible. It's restored so all issues have been dealt with.

You need to have another car to own these cars. Undercarriages should not be exposed to inclement weather.

If you’re a hobbyist... it's a dream.

If you need regular transportation... lease a new one so you can give it back before it gets old.

Great styling and handling.

Great for cruise nights.

Excellent parts availability.

Available literature for servicing from many sources including clubs and magazines.

Aluminum rear carrier and one of the lightest C3's.

It's important to note that I have owned this car for many years and it was purchased relatively new with an excellent undercarriage. If you want to keep it like new you have to keep up with everything...including those nasty bushings.

The regular maintenance is worth it.
