2007 Chevrolet Impala LT1 review from North America
"Fun, Reliable, All Around Good Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major has gone wrong with this car -- only two.
Minor things. The back of the front driver seat.
Squeaks and groans whenever you lean your back against.
It to get comfortable, and the black plastic covers over.
The side of the door frames wiggle just a little. This.
Last problem was covered under warranty. There is a
TSB out on the front PASSENGER seat squeaking, but not.
The front driver seat. I am still going to see what I.
Can do about it under the warranty since I only have.
10,000 miles on my car.
General comments?
This car is great. It is such a HUGE difference from driving my Wrangler. I knew it would be a big
difference, but I had no idea that the 2007 Impalas were going to ride this nice. I could literally fall asleep if I were a passenger in this car even if I wasn't tired! The handling is wonderful, and steering is responsive. It corners nicely if you don't take the corner at 65 mph. Acceleration is fantastic to get up to highway speeds from an on ramp. The standard features and options that the LT1 comes with are definitely enough for what I need. I don't have the speed controlled volume on the radio -- which would have been nice -- but I can live without that. I have the tire pressure monitor, average/instant fuel economy (which by the way I honestly get anywhere between 31 and 34 mpg on the highway at 70 mph with cruise control set depending on whether it's a short trip of 1/2 hour or a longer trip of 1 1/2 hours), outside temperature reading, compass, etc. Very nicely equipped for a step above the base model. I also have the power sunroof (which I LOVE). The Wrangler that I had was a soft top. I had it for a year, and just dropped the top once. It was such a chore to raise and lower that thing with just one person. AND if you were caught in the rain, it was a pain to try and find coverage to put it back up. Whereas the power sunroof opens and closes in a matter of seconds. And I still get the fresh air without all the hassle. I also have the rear spoiler that makes it look just a little sporty. Overall, I really am enjoying this car.
