2003 Chevrolet Impala Base review from North America
"A great car at an average price, for which it was built and marketed; this vehicle pleases me"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The headlight relay switch failed at 45000 miles.
The hazard light fuse failed at 38000 miles.
General comments?
This is the perfect family car, for it is roomy inside, has a huge trunk, is comfortable, and gets excellent gas mileage.
Others may not like the column mounted shift, but I love it because it provides even more cockpit room.
It did suffer slight cabin noise from the cheaper grade Tiger-Paw tires that it came with, but a recent and necessary tire change has made the car extremely quiet inside regardless of speed.
The 3.4L lacks a bit in acceleration, but I wanted economy for my family, not a speed car.
The overall cost of ownership has proved thousands less than past vehicles I have owned, and it is very reliable overall.
