2008 Chevrolet Impala LT review from North America
"Nice driver - POOR QUALITY!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car started "surging" under load... climbing hills, hard acceleration, etc. at about 1000 miles. Problem became suddenly serious at 2700 miles. Transmission had internal damage from poor assembly/parts. Was without car 3 weeks to the day.
General comments?
Power is OK. Gas mileage is not as good as window sticker indicated. Car rides and handles well. Car is very good in snow and foul weather. Pass side seat is not powered and seat bottom is positioned to low in front. Everybody that has sat in the passenger seat has commented on its poor positioning!
Transmission failed at 2700 miles. After trans was repaired, dealer re-aligned the car. Rear alignment was way out of spec from factory.
I feel that Chevrolet's quality has sunk to an
incredibly poor level.
Over the last 20 years I have owned many vehicles from GM and Dodge/Jeep. I have had no such trouble with the Dodge/Jeep products, and spent less money in maintenance than I have on the GM vehicles.
