"Still a good car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
See 27 Oct 2005 review. Since then the transmission went
out at 111,000 miles, of all things it was in the shop
for a traction control problem and went out while the mechanic was driving the car.
Pd $2250.00 for the r & r and then have had the traction control system replaced at almost
$700.00
The infamous pass-lock system has failed. The security light stays on and I've been driving it
this way for over two years. I'm not going to pay $400.00 for a fix.
I researched this out, and come to find out this
is a common problem that GM refuses to deal with.
Trust me, the used car warranty companies do not include this in coverage as I found that out with my policy. They did their homework on such problematic areas as the pass-lock system and made
sure not to include it in their " Comprehensive-
Coverage!"
I like my Impala, but boy, it sure can be expensive to
fix. Current mileage is a little over 122,000 at present.
General comments?
I really like the car, drives well, very comfortable
on long trips, gas mileage is good, again as I found
out it can be rather expensive to repair.
