I can’t believe this car, it has been a real disappointment to me and I have been driving “Only” Chevrolet's since I began driving. My first car was a 1955 Chevrolet, and now I have finally moved through until I made it to my present 2000 Chevy Impala LT.
When I turn my blinkers on, all of my alarms go off on the cluster, lights and buzzers both. And it has now started stalling out some of the time. I have had four near accidents due no brakes or power steering. No one can seem to figure out what is wrong with it. Should I junk it or pray that one day I can get it fixed??? I really loved it until all of this began, can anyone help with suggestions?
I think you should get rid of it. I did research before I purchased my 2004 Impala and the first three years of this design have a lot of kinks 2000,2001,2002. All you would do is keep on spending more money to fix it. From 2003 and up the car is great (2005 is the best year).
As far as your dashboard lights (speedometer) acting crazy, this is a common problem in all Chevrolet's. Just out of nowhere they will either go out or act crazy. Also another common problem in Chevy's is the famous clicking sound. (something to do with the rack and pinion, etc)
If I were you I would get a used one from 2003 and up. My 2004 has not caused me any major problems and is reliable. I would advise you to get the LS with the body color trim because the plastic trim is cheap and falls off (a part of mine fell off on the left side by the front tire) and you get the 3.8 engine instead of the 3.4.
Good Luck.
