2000 Chevrolet Impala LS review from North America
"Friday/Monday Car (Lemon)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head light burnt out two months after purchase.
Driver's side air bag connection.
Security light comes on when driving in wet weather, unable to locate problem.
Faulty radio/tape/CD player replaced.
Cruise control light flashes from time to time and cruise is not even on, cruise will not work when light is flashing. Have to turn car off and on to stop light from flashing.
Body control module replaced twice.
Front brake rotors warped at 15,000 miles.
Replaced transmission at under 20,000 miles.
Head gasket leak and replaced at less than 20,000 miles.
Intermediate steering shaft replaced at 40,000 miles.
Intermediate steering shaft needed lubbing at 60,000 only 20,000 miles after it was replaced.
I'm sure there is more, but I can't remember anything else at this time.
General comments?
Friday - Monday Car. I think they started production on this car on Friday and finished on Monday.
Comfortable front seats, but back seat lacks thigh support.
Smooth, quick acceleration, nice styling.
Thank God for extended warranties.
Will not be purchasing another Chevy.
