1992 Chevrolet K3500 Silverado review from North America

All mileage approximate.

The truck was a multiple-state company parts hauler before my ownership.

Normal maintenance done as scheduled (tune-ups, hoses, brakes and such due to wearing out).

The transmission replaced twice during the first 400,000.

Front seat replaced at 200,000, then at 450,000 miles.

Rear end replaced at 390,000 approximate.

Things I have done:

Complete tune-up and tires at 400,000 miles.

Replaced dash cluster at 400,000 due to a bad gas gage.

Replaced cab (truck was T-boned 7 days after I got it)

1 set of over-sized, high dollar tires 500,000 miles.

Replaced all at one time front: Brakes, calipers, rotors, hubs (wheel bearings), transmission mount at 450,000.

Replaced water pump and clutch fan at 490,000 miles.

Re-soldered wipe board contacts. Unknown mileage.

It needs a new radiator and hoses now.

Replaced the rear metal brake line twice (keeps rusting out), mileage unknown (past 3 years).

Replaced brake master cylinder at 505,000 miles.

Replaced both headlights due to being cloudy, mileage unknown.

Even though my truck has sooo many miles on it and is starting to need TLC, it has been very reliable. I am starting to restore it instead of buying a new one. I pull a car trailer and/or a camper on a regular basis.

The truck has a teeth jarring ride, but it is a fair trade to be able to pull and haul anything I need to.

I have owned many trucks by other brands, but this has by far been the best truck I have ever owned.
