1994 Chevrolet Lumina APV review from North America
"Very decent van"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ignition control module went out at 126,000.
Exhaust fell off car at 131,000.
Seat belts tangle and lock very easily.
Valve cover gasket on rear started leaking at 135,000.
ABS light has come on since I bought this van in 2006.
General comments?
This van is overall not too bad. It rides pretty decently. Very easy to diagnose when something goes out for the most part.
My only real tiffs with this van is that the exhaust from the muffle back fell off while I was driving, and the seat belts tangle WAY too easy.
The exhaust fell off when the vehicle was over 130,000 miles, so that can be expected. I'm not sure when it was put on.
Shortly after the exhaust was replaced, the catalytic converter blew through the side and was replaced.
The old owner had pinched some ignition wires under the distributor cap, and that caused it not to run. Found the wires, taped them and put them in the proper spot. Van has run since.
Suspension needs work and I just replaced the tie-rods, but again this van has over 130,000 miles on it. Seems to be regular maintenance.
