I have had my 91 lumina euro sedan for 9 years. I Love this car. the mileage I get ranges from 25-33. depending on the driving style. I have kept up on maintenance. it has been overseas with me and back again. there has been many quarks to work out.. heater coil had to be replaced. alternator once. had to replace seals on the oil crank shaft (huge source of that annoying oil leak I finally figured out)
For a car that had 76k when I got it and now 160k. I think it has held it's paces well. the one problem I have had reaccuring is my heating/cooling. I have never seen the radatior fan come on. it has been an issue and I am currently working it. if anyone knows a little about this problem. comments would be great. all wires have been checked from the sensors to relays and fans. have swapped out the computer (had a spare from a friend) but the issues remain. 30 amp fuse to ac fan (secondary fan) blows. radiator fan doesn't come on (and yes checked fans..) relays work and jumping them also works.

I bought my 91 Lumina Euro in November of 2004, and I LOVE it. It handled the 1800 mile drive from Iowa to Arizona with absolutely no problems, drove great.
My only problem is that the cruise control has gone out, and I'm not sure how to fix it, but other than that, I haven't had a single problem with it.
The brakes are starting to act up, but as I read other peoples comments, I guess it's something that's common.
Finding aftermarket parts is kinda a pain, but what can you expect? I don't think too many people try to beef up a Lumina haha.
Overall, the car runs great and handles well. I would definitely recommend it.

I have a 91 euro. My trunk release broke. So I used a wire tied to a washer that goes threw the chevy symbol. The front 2 motor mounts rusted lose and my engine dropped and pulled my rag joint out of place. This caused me to have no steering ability whatso ever. I hear a poping/clunking noise when I stop and turn. I hear a humming sound comming from my rear end. Overall I think this was a cheap made car besides the motor.

I have a 1991 Red Lumina Euro coupe with the 3.1 V6. It has been a wonderful car! I bought it in 1991. I still drive it to work 50 minutes each way. It has 359,889 miles on the car and engine, and is still getting 24mpg. The trans. was rebuilt at 180,000 miles. I wish I could buy a brand new one all over again!

My blue 1991 Chevy Lumina 3.1L will be 20 years old next month. It has 125,045 miles. Great reliable car. It gets 26-28 mpg.
I had to replace the infamous manifold gaskets in 1998 and the radiator in 1999.
I have replaced the alternator twice.
I replaced the rear calipers.
The radio died long ago.
One tap on the gas pedal and it will leave newer cars in the dust at the red lights.
This is a great car. They don't make them like this anymore.

The high low revving is the idle air control valve - clean or replace.

I bought my 91 lamina in 2004. It is one one the best running car on the road I get great gas mileage. The only problem that I have had was my hood release broke, but a piar of pilers work wonders. It has 350,000 on it and still runs like a dream. So I have not had really any problems with it.
