1992 Chevrolet Lumina review from North America
"Reliable, affordable, and sexy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cracked rear spring.
Rear breaks wearing badly.
A tie-rod end is in bad shape.
Struts are shot.
Driver door handle broke due to human stupidity.
Pulls to the left.
Panel cover for windows broken.
Console has hidden damage due to not wanting to waste money on CD player installation.
General comments?
These are all problems that must have been present when I got the car. So far nothing has happened while -I- was driving it.
The car was borrowed from me and driven 100 plus highway miles everyday for several months.
When I got the car it handled nicely. I could do 20 over no problem. Now it's become evident that I risk an accident trying to take turns over the speed limit.
At 226,000 miles, I maintain complete confidence in my Lumina.
Maybe good, maybe bad - lots of heat. The engine might be producing too much, or that's how it should be. Not really sure to be honest. In Michigan, a car that warms up fast is an asset.
