1986 Chevrolet Lumina review from North America

Transmission needed to be replaced due to reverse failure only a week after I bought the car.

AC needed a freon recharge, but now works perfect.

Alternator died and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Head gasket blew and almost warped the block.

Rust is beginning to form on the rocker panels, but it is expected due to the fact that I live in the North Country and they salt hard up here in the winter.

Overall this car is a dream it runs and pulls hard and yet has the comfort of the family sedan that it is. The large amount of trunk space allowed ample space for the placement of my 2 12' Rockford p1's and my p500 amp. As far as trying to street race with this car it aint gonna happen, this car will get out of its own way, but against even a civic with a can muffler it gets trashed. But aside from that this car has been getting me back and forth to work and college with little or no problems and has been keeping money in my pocket thanks to the 32 mpg its been averaging. Really the only downside is I really wish in some instances on the highway that it was the LS with the 55 extra horse of that 3.4L, not to mention the tuned suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes the LS also came stock with.
