Had to replave e.g.r valve 3 times! And it still is bad again!! Since that is bad I am getting only 15mpg because!Rust is already forming and I snow wash it every week during the winter. Steering loose at high speeds.
I really like this car a lot. I can't believe that the e.g.r valve has to be replaced 3 times and it still is bad. Very comfortable the steering is very loose at high speeds. I don't like the fact that the paint looks dul and it is starting to rust. Does anyone know if it has traction control because it has a low trac light, but I don't know if that means it has it.
The blue "low trac" light in that car will illuminate when the anti-lock brakes are working to slow you down on slippery surfaces. But it isn't for traction control during acceleration. Good luck with you Lumina... they are great cars. Mine has 312,000 miles.
I had a problem with my erg valve. Had it in the shop 4 times in one month until the mechanic figured out that there was carbon build up in the passage (the problem is in the passage not the valve) in the intake manifold which he couldn't get to it see it without taking the manifold half way apart. Now it is broke due to the infamous faulty intake manifold gasket... other than the gasket and the erg passage car was fine... I'll miss it if I decide not to keep it!~
Theres a traction control light on the dash of every Lumina.. but it was an optional feature. If you got the LTZ model it has traction control. The intake gasket is engineered failure, they put plastic one in at factory (idiots) and once you replace it with a real rubber gasket it's fine. Typically they fail around 100k miles and I'd say it's worth fixing if the rest of the car is solid.
