"Disappointed"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes are a constant source of complaint needing service/replacement prematurely in my estimation.
Fuel gage has let us down twice erroneously indicating we had fuel when we didn't and more often showing empty on a full tank.
Rear doors 'groan' when opened even though at every oil change they are lubricated (as a courtesy) by the oil change company.
From day one of ownership the engine had a loud ticking noise at startup which did go away until it reached 64k when it didn't. The clatter was so bad it was deemed un-driveable and was immediately taken to the dealership. We are awaiting the report to find out if the extended warranty person is satisfied that we have indeed maintained the vehicle after having to produce all receipts. Keep your receipts!
General comments?
My wife and I bought the car as we both have elderly parents who need easy ingress and egress from a vehicle. The Malibu fit the bill and I have always owned GM of one badge or another. The Malibu, with its engine problems of late, has let us down as far as long term reliability goes. I will likely return to Saturn for a replacement vehicle.
