"Total waste of my hard earned money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Hazard lights ceased to work completely. Serious vibration in rear passenger electric window. Wiper blade box flew off on highway during a snowstorm. Serious problem with their tires. Two mechanics and a service technician at the 2 dealerships told me that the Firestone Affinity tires used on this car are a very poor choice for the weight of this car.I've slid through several stop signs and actually considered stopping to drive int he winter due to their lousy tires and braking system. Air conditioner does not seem to work as well as other cars I've owned. Incredible amount of road noise is hear while driving. Many interior noises. Very loud engine noise while both driving and idling. So far I have had to change the brakes, the wiper blade box the components for the rear passenger window, the hazard lights and now most likely the tires. I must also mention that every time I open the trunk in the rain or snow it pours into the trunk well. At higher speeds the car has a definite roll to it and is actually not enjoyable to drive.

General comments?

Very poor excuse for a car.

GM needs to definitely needs to refine this car.

Would most definitely not buy another Malibu and unless someone at head office makes a move to help me deal with these problems I most definitely will not be purchasing another GM.

I agree that the OEM Firestone tires are not the best. From day one they were noisy on my Malibu, kind of like a cupping noise. They really wore unevenly too, despite rotations and balancing. When they wore out (38,500 miles) I went with Yokohama YK420 tires. I believe the YK420s are exclusive to discount tire, but they do have an H4 series that is nearly identical at other tire shops and on the Internet.

I haven't regretted the yokes one bit... they made my car drive better than new. Much quieter, the noise is gone. They look sharp on the car too. I really can't tell you how they do in snow and on ice...haven't had a snow storm here since buying them.

Good luck with you 'bu.
