2001 Chevrolet Malibu LS review from North America
"You get what you pay for.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front brake rotors, front brake pads. The front pads came loose at 35,000 miles. The repair involved turning the rotors and replacing the front pads. NOT covered under warranty, despite the fact that the car mileage was within new car miles and dates; and despite the fact that this appears to be a common problem on Chev Malibus. Front end noise on this model is excessive, both before and after the repair.
General comments?
1) Excessive front end noise.
2) Front end brake problems seem to be common.
3) GM won't cover these problems under warranty.
4) Front tire wear also seems excessive.
