2001 Chevrolet Malibu review from North America
"The car has good power but other than that I think I was sold a lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My head gasket blew at 37,000 right after the warranty ended.
I had the struts replaced twice.
My A/C resistor broke and it would only work on fan setting 3,4,or 5. (I ordered a new resistor and fixed it myself)
The car won't start most days. I took it to a garage and they said they did not see any problem with it. The car has stalled at least 20 times from that point(and it's only been a month from being serviced).
The drivers side arm rest creeks.
The car will rev up without touching the gas.
The car will reset itself. The clock the tripometer etc..
And lastly... the gas gauge won't work. It reads empty most days when it's full or it will stay on full and not move.
General comments?
This car was a good car until it hit 33,000 (that means that I only put about 6,000 miles on it before things started to go.
I feel that it is not a reliable car-- I would have to get up 30 minutes earlier to make time just in case my car would not start.
