2005 Chevrolet Malibu LS review from North America
"A lot of car for the money; I don't know why anyone practical would want to spend more"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing!
General comments?
Our 2005 Malibu drives much better than our 2003. The highway steering, is getting more like a good German car, is much better than our 2003 and is quite acceptable. I have no thoughts of trading it.
The engine has plenty of power for hole shots in traffic. The transmission behaves well.
Fuel mileage is outstanding. We got 33.6 overall during a trip to FL and back to the upper Midwest. The dash computer read about 1 mpg higher than actual when checked manually over a couple of tanks. EPA rating is 32; easy to achieve with somewhat careful acceleration from stop.
The oil change computer is a good tool to have; eliminates unnecessary oil changes.
Chevrolet dealers are everywhere, if you need one.
