1998 Chevrolet Metro LS review from North America
"A great first car, its reliable and inexpensive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear view mirror fell off. I had to get a new glue pad from the Chevy dealer.
The front brakes and tires wear out so fast on these cars. About every 12,000 miles they need replacing. Whats funny I read other reviews on these cars and other owners had to replace tires and brakes on these cars every 5,000 miles. I guess I was the lucky one.
General comments?
Got great gas mileage. I got about 330 miles on one tank doing 70mph highway speeds which only costs $16 to fill up each time, this was right before gas prices went sky high. If I still had this car I probably would pay double that price, but now I drive a hybrid.
The seats were very uncomfortable, they were low and badly designed. Im 5'10 230lbs. My head was inches from the roof and my waist just about touched the tranmission stick and the drivers door.
Changing the gears were always a bit of a pain.
