2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 2.3 from North America

Summary:

The Monte Carlo is a good looking practical car

Faults:

The brake rotors and pads had to be replaced at 50,000 miles. This is partially due to the rotors being exposed to a lot of road salt and other elements.

The fake leather on the door interior tears easily. There are several small nicks.

General Comments:

This has been a very comfortable and reliable car for me. The car has never broke down and the only major work I've had done was the brakes.

The suspension and factory Goodyear tires still have a lot of life left. (at 50,000)

The car is not as fast as it looks, but is still reasonably quick and gets over 30 MPG on the highway.

The factory XM radio is very nice, although it does cut out a lot.

Well worth the money!

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with it yet! I maybe need a transmission flush, but that's it.

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 3.4L V6 from North America

Summary:

I love this Monte Carlo!

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with my car.

Except that I had to change brakes at 10,000, and the brakes and rotors, both at about 50,000 miles.

General Comments:

I love my chevy car and I will keep it until it won't start or move any more.

The brakes are squealing again and I need to check them out because they never did this before. I like this car better than my older Monte Carlo!

Put ceramic pads on it and the squealing will stop. Spend the extra money. It is worth it. Change them yourself. It is not that difficult.

I, too, put Cerami Stop pads on my car and that squeal is gone!

2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 3.4L V6 from North America

Summary:

Great price for a great car!

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car yet except for the brakes which make the car shake when braking at high speeds.

Also, when I start the car, it takes a couple of seconds for it to turn over.

General Comments:

My Monte Carlo is the best car I have ever owned.

Shaking when braking at high speed is common and easy to fix. You can see if someone can turn your rotors, or just buy new ones. They aren't that expensive.
