2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo review from North America
"I loved the old Monte Carlo's better"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bad oil pan gasket.
Fuel system, which is why it's now in the shop.
General comments?
The Monte Carlo is a good looking sporty carm and it's all I ever driven. They drive wonderful. This is my 3rd Monte Carlo. My other 2 I never had to take to a repair shop until I got this car.
I had a 95 Monte Carlo and a much older Monte Carlo, and both went past 200,000 miles without having any mechanical problems.
When I bought this Monte Carlo, which was the first Monte Carlo I bought brand new, it broke down on I-95 in the middle of nowhere with me being stranded because of a defective oil pan gasket, which left oil all over the highway. It's a good thing the oil light came on, otherwise I would have just kept going and I would have blown the engine.
Now it's in the shop because one morning it would not turn over. First they thought it was the fuel pump and replaced that, and still the same thing, but they still think it's a fuel related problem and they still can't figure it out. Meanwhile I'm stranded with no car.
