1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z-34 review from North America
"A high cost lemon with good looks"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I could not imagine where to start!
29 days after I bought the car two cams broke right in half due to the premature bearing wear. Keep in mind I have only had this car 3 months! When I went to the garage to pick the car up he laughed at me (certified GM mechanic) and said I was going to make a lot of money because these cars are broken down all the time.
About 2 weeks later the air conditioning unit flew apart, the engine is now smoking consuming about 2 liters a week and it has a very loud banging noise in the trunk (I don't even want to know!!)
General comments?
This car is very powerful and does handle very well.
It does get slightly better gas mileage then a 747 airliner. And the brakes are the best I have seen on wet or dry pavement as long as it is parked!!!
Did I mention the rear view mirror works perfect!
