1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo z34 from North America - Comments

"This car is good if you treat it right."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Right now I have an electrical problem which the dealer cannot solve. The car runs great in all; just gas hog. The problem is my ABS light comes on, then the other 'dummie lights' come on. From that when I roll down my windows or use anything electrical in my car, it cuts off the radio, or anything else I'm using that takes juice. (Blinkers, HAZ. lights, AC) When I come to a complete stop and use a blinker, which cuts down the juice, often my car dies. I've already replaced my battery and alt, still having the problem. A few here and there problems, but nothing major cept for this one. ^^^

General comments?

It's a good car, it's quick for a V6. In my 95' Monte carlo Z34 I've raced and beat a V6 Camaro, V6 Mustang, 2003 V6 Honda Civic. I can keep up with a stock mustang GT 5.0. I just put 20' rims on my Monte, slowing down the acc. over 50%. Good thing is that top speed is still able to get up and go. I believe my Monte builds up speed quicker after going 65mph. From 65mhp to 115mhp the acc is GREAT. It handles pretty good for the size, and the space is great. I just wish they made more proformance parts. If you can help me with my electrial problem, or you know to get proformance parts or body kits, ect.. email me please! d0ck_666@hotmail.com Thank you.

I own 1995 Monte Carlo SS z34. I had the same problem. I finally solved it by replacing the alternator and cleaning the main connection to the fuse box on the right side of the fender weld. This connection was corroded. It was not evident when you visually inspected. I had to physically undo the nut from the bolts and clean and re-tighten the connection. The fuse box on the right supplied all of the above mention ABS, etc... I hope this will help.
