1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 review from North America
"Bang For Your Buck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the Alternator (6 hour job, Chevy engineers are some of the dumbest people in the Auto business. I had to tear a part half of the front of the car just to get close to the alternator and used a 4' extension through the wheel well just to get it off)
Replaced Fuel Injectors.
Replaced Rotors.
Timing Belt broke.
Hesitant shifting and bogging.
General comments?
Great performance for the price.
Great handling practically no body roll.
Good punch, but roars after 3000rpm.
Great interior, very ergonomic.
Great sound system for a '96 Chevy, still impressive today.
Fairly good gas mileage.
All together this car is great, it was suppose to be totaled, but I refused to let it go! I love this car all, but the problems that its giving me. But hey what could I expect after buying it after it was a fleet car. The good thing is withing another year and at this rate everything on it will be fixed and it will be ready for another 200,000 miles.
